Hi
I am involved in writing a travel web site that uses ofbiz. This is a large project and involves all the major hotel chains operating in Africa, as inventory suppliers as well as flights and car hire etc. It has been our intention to use ofbiz accounts. I have been debugging, fixing areas like reconciliations and adding functionality like totals etc. on balance sheets according to the requirements from our accountants. I have become concerned about this approach because the last 2 releases of ofbiz have the broken Income Statements and Balance Sheets but there has been no discussion in the user group around these problems. These leads me to believe no one is using the accounts area. Is anyone using ofbiz accounts in a large commercial application? Are you using ofbiz accounts? If not how are you handling accounts? Is it possible to export accounts to another application? I would be grateful to hear about other peoples approaches. Thanks Rees |
We haven't used the accounts section yet, but plan on it. No first hand knowledge of what's missing.... planned on fixing any broken stuff.

only recently there has been a major upgrade using bigdecimal.
currently we are tracking gl with a hand entered data in Quick books then re-conciling the two. So far have not found and math errors. you can get a java dev from intuit to export GL to quick books. http://developer.intuit.com/ Rees Watkins sent the following on 4/20/2009 4:21 AM: > Hi > > I am involved in writing a travel web site that uses ofbiz.
